Sail Recycling Surrey

swm_sc sail drop 2.jpg

Sail Recycling Surrey is a joint initiative between Simon Winkley Marine and Sails & Canvas (S&C) to prevent sails going into landfill. It is a drop-off point for used Dacron dinghy and yacht sails at Queen Mary Sailing Club (QMSC).

Donated sails are transferred quarterly from SWM to S&C in Topsham in Devon for up-cycling into beautifully crafted items such as cushions, deck chairs, mats, accessories and bags of all shapes and sizes.

Sails need to be made of Dacron (as laminated sails cannot be used), clean and dry with no mould or evidence of rodent infestation. Simply get in touch to discuss the sails that you wish to donate and we can agree on a date and time to drop them off at QMSC. Also state whether you would like to receive a complementary small bucket bag or would like a donation to made on your behalf by S&C to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI).
