Our courses provide lots of equipment in great condition. Candidates are provided with a full-sized Laerdal Little Anne manikin for their sole use on the course. Yes, that's 1 manikin per candidate, which exceeds the minimum requirement of 1 manikin between 4 candidates. Prior to each course, manikins are cleaned and fitted with a brand new lung. Our aim is to provide clean and hygienic resources to facilitate safe and effective first aid training.
Our first aid courses are professional, lively and engaging with inclusivity and support at the centre of our delivery. We incorporate presentations, short films, demonstrations, discussions, role-play scenarios and hands-on student practice to nurture confidence. With engaging examples of real situations from watersports and the outdoors, the courses aim to be stimulating and enjoyable. At the end of the course, participants should take away the clear and positive message that the role of the first aider is achievable and rewarding with great benefits for those injured or suddenly taken ill.
The duration of the course is 8 hours of contact time and is delivered in one day from 0900-1800 with 1 hour of breaks. The maximum instructor-to-student ratio is 1:12. There is no minimum number of candidates and there are no age restrictions on the course. RYA First Aid books are provided for each candidate as well as the RYA certificate (upon successful completion of the course). The Cat C Medical Stores endorsement can be included at no additional cost for commercial skippers (with the RYA First Aid certificate endorsed). This will need to be arranged in advance and will add up to 30 minutes to the course after other candidates have left.
Individual bookings
Our main operating base is Queen Mary Sailing Club in Surrey. Our other location (new to us for 2025) is The Eyot Centre in Henley-on-Thames. The cost per person of our courses in these locations (including the RYA First Aid book and certificate) is £130.00 including VAT.

Sailing club and watersports centre bookings
The non-commercial price for us to deliver this course at your own sailing club or watersports centre is £495.00 plus VAT = £594.00. Add to that £12.00 per person for the RYA First Aid book and certificate and you have an affordable equivalent price of £61.50 per person based on 12 people attending. Booking the course this way will require full payment upfront by the host organisation by invoice and the cost will be the same regardless of how many people book the course. The club centre can then choose to charge their members/staff their preferred rate for the course or to provide it for free. The course will be set up on our booking system to enable participants to book their places without paying using a special code. This takes much of the time-consuming course admin away from the host club/centre. All we need is access from 0800-1830 to a quiet, warm, dry room of an appropriate size in the club/centre with standard facilities like toilets etc.
