Parawinging Lessons
Learning the basics on our safe, inland water before heading off to the coast to start downwinding will nurture confidence and allow an understanding of the basic techniques. Our parawing lessons are currently 2 hours on a ratio of 1 student to 1 instructor and provide full powerboat support.

The kit we use is:​

The brand new Ensis Roger 3.0m parawing (released in late December 2024)

A full-carbon Starboard Acefoil 120 7'4" board

A starboard foil with a high aspect Glider 1400 or 1700 front wing
The instructor will be demoing the techniques, discussing them with you, coaching you from the boat and, when you get all the way downwind, taking you up to 1.6km back upwind to enjoy another ride.

Lessons are delivered at mutually convenient times during weekdays or weekends. We need 15-30 knots for a lesson using a 3.0m parawing with larger or smaller front wings. Sessions can be booked well in advance, with the peace of mind that we will reschedule a day or two beforehand if the forecast is not strong enough.

The cost of a 2-hour 1:1 lesson with full kit and powerboat support is £195.

Our wing school at QMSC in Surrey in on a clean, deep 700 acre stretch of water raised high above the landscape. We are a RYA Training Centre for all levels of wingsurf and wingfoil. No governing body has created a scheme yet for parawinging so we have developed our own scheme to provide an effective and safe introduction for those already quite experienced in wingfoiling.

We have a unit right by the water with a large astroturf rigging area and we use the very latest boards, foils and wings from Starboard and Freewing - plus parawings from Ensis.
Simon adopted winging in early 2021, qualified as a RYA Wingfoil Instructor on the very first course in Weymouth in May 2021 and has taught hundreds of sessions since. He delivers private lessons at QMSC and runs wingfoiling clinics through Sportif Travel in Tobago and Prasonisi and also in Weymouth. Parawinging had immediate appeal and, when kit landed in the UK at the end of December 2024, Simon was one of the earliest adopters.​
